Take Care Of Yourself Mama!

    










    
As much as I try to remember to take care of myself, I still forget or don't really have the time. When I think about it, self-care doesn't always have to take hours. It can simply take 5 minutes or even 30 minutes. I have a long list of things that I do to take care of myself or just to make myself feel good. For self-care, my favorite thing to do is take a HOT bath. And when I say hot, I mean hot enough that you can see the steam. From bubbles to bath bombs to music and soak for a long time. Then after, I apply lotion and perfume just to smell good. Feeling and smelling clean always makes me feel great. I also like to put on lashes to enhance my beauty. They are never needed but I really enjoy wearing them. Makeup as well, sometimes a little... Sometimes a full face; depends on how I'm feeling. Of course, I would need to take a billion pictures just to find the best one. Looking in the mirror is cool but to capture the moment and be able to look back on it, is way better. Writing in my journal is another favorite. Expressing my feelings or even talking about my day or what I have going on is a must. Getting my feelings out makes me feel good too. Sometimes talking to other people doesn't help or I just don't want to drown them in excitement or sadness. So, I'd rather write and talk to myself on paper, most times. I also like to write music and draw or use air dry clay but lately I've been slacking on it. That's something I need to get back to doing. Being creative is just a part of me. Again, that's when the busy part comes back in. One day, I will turn my hobbies into dollar signs. Releasing music and beats have been a plan and dream for many years. I will get there and accomplish both real soon. Music means a lot to me. It's just something about R&B that just makes me warm inside. I listen to rap too, but I'd rather listen to and write R&B. I like to take a nap when my son takes one too. Yes, it's still considered self-care and definitely needed as a mama. Getting a chance to rest my mind and body is always needed. Giving myself a pedicure is a MUST. From soaking, to scrubbing and sometimes nail polish, to add a little cherry on top. I mean, who doesn't like soft, smooth and pretty feet? Going for a walk and buying something nice also helps. A nice outfit or a book, a little retail therapy, works every time. I even have coloring books that I love to use, I need more though. Crayons, colored pencils and markers. I have a lot of fun with those. When I draw, I love to use oil pastels. They can turn a nice drawing to a beautiful masterpiece. It is essential to take care of myself and to make myself feel good as a mama. I refuse to forget myself, I refuse to look like anything, and I refuse to be unhappy and bored! 


Taking care of yourself as a mama is important. Those are just a few examples of what I do for me; there's so many ways you can take care of yourself. However, the amount of self-care you can do for yourself can vary. Do whatever works for you! Make the best out of whatever situation you are in and have fun!!! Love and take care of yourself, always!
